We have now settled back to school after the holidays and we are ready
to learn in ‘The Base’. This is a letter to inform you of our topics for this
term as well as an over-view of our week.
Reading: All children in the base will be participating in an individualised
reading programme with 1:1 support.
Maths: All children in the base will be participating in an individualised
maths programme with 1:1 support. This half term we’re focussing on
number and shape, space and measures.
PE: PE will be on Mondays and Wednesdays and we are playing ball
games. As part of our self-help/independence life skills we will be getting
changed for PE so please provide a PE and some deodorant.
Science: This half term we are going to be learning about ‘The Skeleton’.
Cooking: We are going to be cooking in the school kitchen every Tuesday
– sometime a package will come home from school & other days we’ll eat
Library: Thursday is our library day so please ensure your child’s book is
returned by Thursday so they can change it.
Art: This half term we are going to be making landscape pictures and
building up layers in order to create our art work.
PSHE: This half term we are learning about ‘New Beginnings’ and life in our
new class with new staff.
ICT: We are going to be manipulating graphics – on the ipad, PCs, photocopier
and using a digital camera.
Geography: We are going to be learning about ‘How and where we spend our
time?’- look out for a sheet coming home soon.
